(KRON) – Authorities are investigating a homicide that transpired on Mother’s Day in Uptown Oakland, according to the Oakland Police Department.
Around midnight on Sunday, Oakland police officers responded to the 600 block of 16th Street due to the report of a shooting.
Arriving officers located a victim who sustained gunshot wound(s). Despite medical personnel rendering aid, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
