A Taiwanese Inspired Eatery in SF was Ordered Closed Due to Major Rodent Infestation

San Francisco’s Golden Ocean Quickly restaurant was shut down by health officials following a routine inspection. The restaurant failed the inspection, which found severe health code violations, such as rodent infestation and equipment malfunction.

Golden Ocean Quickly Failed Health Inspection

The San Francisco Department of Public Health issued an immediate suspension of health permit and closure notice to Golden Ocean Quickly. The restaurant was ordered to cease all food-handling activities and close down until all the reasons for closure are addressed.

Inspection Findings at Golden Ocean Quickly

The food manager, Yue Hua Wu, has a certification that is valid until June 15, 2027. The most serious finding was a rodent infestation, evidenced by droppings found on shelving in the front service area and on spice containers in the dry storage room in the rear.

The inspector also reported several other extensive pest control problems. Dead cockroach egg casings were found on a ceiling vent cover in the smaller dry storage area close to the kitchen. The person in charge immediately discarded the tape and cardboard. Live spiders were seen in corners of the service areas, storage, and kitchen, with spiderwebs in need of removal.

Certain food products had been stored at unsafe temperatures over 41°F, such as whipping cream at 54°F and firm tofu at 50°F. A few refrigerators were running higher than safe temperatures, including a two-door sliding refrigerator in the entrance area, kitchen refrigeration units, and some under-counter refrigerators at 45°F to 54°F…
