Illegal Immigrant Arrested by Oregon State Police for Possession of 60 Pounds of Fentanyl

Oregon State Police arrested an illegal resident of California on Interstate 5 near Albany on Tuesday after a search of his vehicle uncovered 60 pounds of fentanyl powder.

Drugs Seized by Trooper in Traffic Stop

Jose Ivan Iribe Camorlinga (46) was apprehended in a traffic stop when a trooper found a large quantity of fentanyl in the trunk of his vehicle. According to court records, he was transferred into the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) custody.

Camorlinga is a Mexican national living illegally in Oakland, California. He is facing charges of possession of fentanyl with the intent to distribute.

He appeared in court yesterday and remains in detention pending further investigations by the DEA. The prosecutor in the case is Paul T. Maloney, Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Oregon.
