$200K fencing operation busted, over $85K cash found

(FOX40.COM) — Property Crime Detectives served a search warrant at a home in Oakland regarding a stolen property case that was from a local investigation on Wednesday.• Video above: How to report a public safety threat

According to the Sonoma Sheriff, “fencers” are criminals who buy and sell stolen property. During the search, detectives were able to recover around $200,000 worth of stolen merchandise and other related accessories

SCSO stated that over $85,000 in cash was also found in the home.

“We believe the items and cash are related to multiple retail theft operations,” said deputies.

This case is being forwarded to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution, SCSO said…
