(KRON) — Days after a reckless boating incident in Discovery Bay injured one person, the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday that two men allegedly involved were arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.
Videos of the June 22 incident were “widely shared on social media,” the sheriff’s office said, and an investigation was launched by the Marine Services Unit. Multiple witnesses reported to authorities that a boat was chasing a personal watercraft, commonly referred to by the brand name Jet Ski, inside the marina at high speeds.
