SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Levi’s Strauss & Co. is laying off dozens of employees at its San Francisco headquarters. According to state filings with the Employment Development Department, the apparel company will cut 44 jobs at the Battery Street location.

The layoffs, which will begin on Sept. 12, are described as permanent in state filings. The layoffs come on the heels of Levi’s selling off its Dockers brand to Authentic Brands Group earlier this year.
Selling Dockers “further aligns our portfolio with our strategic priorities,” Levi Strauss CEO Michelle Gass said in a statement at the time, while thanking the Dockers team for their commitment to building the brand, which she said “continues to be the authority on khaki.”…
