LAFAYETTE, Calif. — A 32-year-old Newark woman reportedly faces felony drunken-driving and child-endangerment charges after she lost control of a westbound minivan on Highway 24 and struck the center divider near the Central Lafayette off-ramp about 3:45 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3.
California Highway Patrol units reportedly had tried to stop the vehicle moments earlier but broke off a brief pursuit when dispatchers relayed that four children were inside.
