At Fisherman’s Wharf, In-N-Out’s chokehold on hordes of hungry tourists is strong. But now, another fast food chain is coming to divert their attention: A Taco Bell Cantina is opening right down the street, as first reported by the San Francisco Business Times. The chain will open at 333 Jefferson St., Suites 104 and 105, in the space that formerly housed a Chipotle and an Auntie Anne’s, according to a pending liquor license application.
The SF Business Times spotted a “coming soon to Fisherman’s Wharf” sign hanging over the vacant space emblazoned with the Taco Bell Cantina logo. A Taco Bell Cantina is a special type of Taco Bell that sells alcoholic beverages, from beer and wine to Twisted Freezes (alcoholic versions of the chain’s popular Freeze drinks, like the bright turquoise Mountain Dew Baja Blast Freeze).
This will not be San Francisco’s first cantina, as the city also has one by Oracle Park at 710 Third St. Other Bay Area cantina locations are in Berkeley, Danville, San Jose, San Ramon and Pacifica, home of the famously beautiful beachfront one. Taco Bell Cantinas tend to stay open late: The other SF location stays open until 3 a.m., which is later than the Fisherman’s Wharf In-N-Out, which closes at 1 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 1:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday…
