PITTSBURG, Calif. (KRON) — Professional boxing in the United States traditionally takes place in cities like Las Vegas, Los Angeles and New York. If you’re a professional fighter based in the Bay Area, you typically have to go on the road, as that is where the boxing cards usually take place.

That won’t be the case this weekend as the “Straight Outta Oakland” fight card brings professional boxing back to the Bay Area — showcasing some of the best local talent.

It’s not often local fight fans have access to see pro bouts live — compared to those living in those “boxing cities.” Come Saturday night at the Oakland Marriott City Center, an appetite for live boxing in the Bay Area will be satisfied. Doors open at 3 p.m., and the first bout is scheduled for 4 p.m.
