Tech entrepreneurs appear to abandon plans for elite Oakland club

If you have some spare cash laying around and feel like acquiring yet another one of Oakland’s unique historic properties, look no further.

In June, 525 Bellevue Ave., a six-story former clubhouse overlooking Lake Merritt, went up for sale, a new LoopNet listing shows. Located in Oakland’s eclectic Adams Point neighborhood, the 1929 French Beaux Arts building boasts 20-foot-tall ceilings, 18 guest rooms and an indoor pool, as well as several rooms for meetings and social gatherings, spanning over 40,000 square feet. According to the property’s marketing materials, the price is still to be determined.
