SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — An armed suspect who led police on a pursuit and eventually plunged into the San Francisco Bay to avoid capture was taken into custody Tuesday. The San Francisco Police Department said officers with the Tenderloin Station spotted a suspect wanted for a violent felony in the area of Market and Jones streets around 12:45 p.m.
Officers attempted a traffic stop but the suspect refused to comply and evaded officers.

Additional SFPD units responded to assist in the pursuit, which was ultimately terminated.
The suspect, police said, continued traveling toward the Embarcadero and was seen fleeing from the vehicle on foot before plunging into the Bay near Pier 30. The San Francisco PD Marine Unit responded to the scene and assisted in taking the suspect into custody…
