S.F. logs hottest day since October — Oakland sets temperature record

Sunday marked the hottest day since October in parts of the Bay Area as a shallow marine layer held back the sea breeze and sent temperatures soaring under sunny skies.

The South Bay was particularly hot. San Jose, Los Altos, Santa Clara and San Martin logged their hottest days of 2025, so far, as the mercury pushed into the 90s, close to 100.

Mineta San Jose International Airport hit 94 degrees in the early afternoon, the highest mercury reading since early October 2024. Temperatures climbed into the upper 90s in southern and eastern portions of San Jose, and San Martin Airport in Santa Clara County hit 100 degrees, the first triple-digit reading there since last year. Los Altos reached 99 degrees, matching its hottest day this year…
