Two California children are being hailed for their “courage and teamwork” after they called 911 to report an intruder in their home, police said.
The Alameda Police Department said a child’s “brave” 911 call led to the swift arrest of a burglary suspect on the 2800 block of San Diego Road at Alameda Point last week. According to police, the child woke shortly after 3 a.m. to the sound of someone breaking into their home, but they “stayed calm, hid, and called for help.”
The child who initially called was unable to give their exact address, but police dispatchers stayed on the line to try to figure out the location.
