Driver killed after car slams into Mission District apartment building in San Francisco

A car slammed into the lobby of a residential building in San Francisco’s Mission District early Friday, leaving the driver dead but sparing tenants inside, authorities said.

The crash occurred around 1:56 a.m. on the 2100 block of Harrison Street, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

Firefighters and police officers arrived to find a vehicle lodged in the building’s entryway with one adult trapped inside. Paramedics pronounced the individual dead at the scene.
