Following a high-speed chase, OPD officers made two arrests and confiscated a stash of firearms. According to a social media post by the Oakland Police Department, the incident began with a vehicle stop gone awry last Saturday, leading to a pursuit and ending in seizures and arrests. After an initial attempt to pull over the vehicle on the 1300 block of 64th Avenue, the driver sped away, sparking a pursuit cut short by OPD due to the danger it presented to the public.
The department’s helicopter took up the chase, keeping eyes on the vehicle as it zoomed across various areas of Oakland. When the car eventually stopped at Harold Street and Coolidge Avenue, the driver abandoned the car but was quickly apprehended by officers.
