A demonstration and march are planned in downtown Oakland on Saturday, Oct. 18, as part of a nationwide “No Kings” day of action organized by Indivisible. According to organizers, participants will gather at Wilma Chan Park (810 Jackson St.) at noon, march at 12:30 pm to the Lake Merritt Amphitheater, and hold a rally at 1:15 pm.
Indivisible East Bay is listed as the local organizer. A number of labor, civil-rights, and advocacy groups are named as partners or sponsors. Organizers say the event is nonviolent and that volunteer peacekeepers and accessibility accommodations are planned.
