Fentanyl, meth bound for San Francisco seized during Oakland bust: PD

(KRON) — Officers with the San Francisco Police Department seized 1,137.8 grams of fentanyl, 29.2 grams of methamphetamine, drug packaging equipment and $6,476 in cash while serving a search warrant at an Oakland home Wednesday.

The drugs were headed for the streets of San Francisco, Interim SFPD Chief Paul Yep announced Friday.

“Our officers did a tremendous job getting a large amount of narcotics off the street that were earmarked for sale in San Francisco,” Yep said. “The SFPD will continue to be relentless in our work to dismantle illegal drug markets and improve street conditions in San Francisco.”

During the search, officers arrested 33-year-old Kelbin Sanders-Cruz for multiple drug charges. He was booked into a local jail for operating or maintaining a drug house, manufacturing a controlled substance, possession for sale of controlled substances, possession for sale of fentanyl, possession for sale of methamphetamine and transporting a controlled substance.

The arrest was part of an ongoing investigation by the SFPD Narcotics Unit. Since the creation of the Drug Market Agency Coordination Center, a multi-agency task force established in May of 2023, SFPD officers have seized more than 939 pounds of drugs, including 337 pounds of fentanyl, SFPD said. Officers have also made more than 10,000 arrests, including 2,227 suspected drug dealers…
