On November 4, 2025, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced the conviction of Keonte Gathron, a 25-year-old San Francisco resident. Gathron was found guilty by a jury of first-degree murder during a robbery and burglary. He was also convicted of more than a dozen other charges, including eight counts of robbery, kidnapping for robbery, two counts of carjacking, two counts of burglary, elder abuse, and child endangerment. The jury found that Gathron personally used a firearm in three incidents.
The crimes occurred over 13 days in January 2019. Gathron’s victims included three elderly people and three juveniles. Many of the victims were Asian and spoke little or no English. The attacks often happened when victims were alone and not paying attention.
District Attorney Jenkins thanked the jury for their service. She stated that her office is committed to seeking justice for all victims. She also acknowledged the victims and witnesses who testified in court despite language barriers…
