Ocean Beach bonfires are a teen ritual. After a shooting, S.F. parents, residents question safety

They’ve been a frequent weekend sight in San Francisco’s Outer Richmond for decades: throngs of teenagers who flock to Ocean Beach for bonfires.

Saturday seemed no different. But violence followed: a street fight between teens escalated into a shooting, according to police and video of the incident posted to social media.

The gunfire injured four minors and a man who was struck by a stray bullet while inside his condo, on the corner of Fulton Street and the Great Highway, according to police and the man’s property maintenance manager…
