Overnight quakes rumble the East Bay

(KRON) — A 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck in the East Bay late Monday, followed by a preliminary 2.6-magnitude quake just after midnight, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The epicenter of both earthquakes was in San Ramon.

The first tremblor occurred at 10:47 p.m. Monday, USGS said, followed by another at 12:08 a.m. Tuesday. People reported feeling the shaking through the East Bay, including Concord, Walnut Creek, Fremont, Hayward and Oakland, according to USGS’s “Did You Feel It?” survey.
