Suspect arrested after barricading inside East Bay donut shop

(KRON) — A person who barricaded inside an East Bay donut shop with customers on Monday was ultimately arrested and hospitalized, according to the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to Ros Donuts at 15918 Hesperian Boulevard in San Lorenzo after reports of a male suspect barricading himself inside with two customers. The California Highway Patrol assisted in blocking off the roadway and announced the police activity on X at 11:41 a.m.

Employees were able to escape from the business through the rear door as the standoff began, the sheriff’s office said. Staff members provided deputies with a live camera feed showing the interior of the donut shop where the suspect and two customers remained, which authorities said was “crucial to the operation.”

After developing a tactical plan, deputies entered the shop and safely removed the two customers, who were uninjured in the incident…
