(KRON) — Students at Oakland’s Skyline High School staged a walkout on Tuesday, following two incidents of on-campus gun violence last week. On Wednesday, a student was shot on the campus at Skyline following a dispute that saw two juveniles detained.

On Thursday, Skyline students were on a field trip at the Laney College campus when athletic director and former football coach, John Beam was shot near the football field. Beam, who coached football at Skyline earlier in his career, died the following day of his injuries.
Video from the Citizen app obtained by KRON4 showed what looked like dozens, if not hundreds of students involved in Tuesday’s walkout. At one point in the video, students could be heard chanting “no more guns.”
