(KRON) — A former San Mateo assisted living facility worker was sentenced for pouring toxic cleaning fluid into a juice pitcher that was served to elderly residents and fatally poisoned two victims.
Alisia Rivera Mendoza was working at Atria Park on August 28, 2022 when two 93-year-old residents, Gertrude Maxwell and Peter Schroder Jr., were served deadly cups of cleaning solution mistaken as “cranberry juice.”
On Friday, San Mateo County Superior Court Judge Michael Wendler sentenced Mendoza to serve 40 days in county jail with zero credit for time served.
