A Bay Area surfer who was rescued from the waters in Santa Cruz County earlier this month has died, officials said.
Nathaniel John Ramirez, 19, of Morgan Hill, died on Nov. 7 from injuries sustained two days prior, said Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Zach West.
Ramirez died two days after crews rescued him and another surfer just after 9 a.m. from The Hook, a popular surfing beach near East Cliff Drive and 41st Avenue in Santa Cruz’s Opal Cliffs neighborhood, according to the Central Fire District of Santa Cruz County, one of several agencies that responded to the incident…
