Hayward man gets 13 years for Stockton drug trafficking

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A Bay Area man received a lengthy prison sentence for drug-related offenses. Robert Godinez of Hayward was sentenced to 13 years in prison for possessing methamphetamine and heroin with intent to distribute, as well as using a cellphone to facilitate drug trafficking, according to U.S. Attorney Eric Grant.

53-year-old Godinez was initially stopped by law enforcement on August 30, 2019, after purchasing drugs in Stockton. Officers found 2 pounds of methamphetamine and about half a pound of heroin in his vehicle. Additionally, Godinez’s lies to the court and a probation officer led to a sentencing enhancement for obstruction of justice.
