Gunshot Alerts Lead Cops to Deadly East Oakland Nighttime Shooting

A burst of gunfire in East Oakland last Wednesday left one man dead, authorities said. Officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of 28th Avenue just after 9:30 PM following several alerts from the city’s gunfire-detection system. The victim was rushed to a hospital, where he later died, according to police.

What Police Found On Arrival

Officers arrived to find a man who had been shot at least once and immediately began first aid before paramedics took over, transporting him to a hospital where he later died, as reported by SFGATE.
