Intel cuts dozens of Bay Area jobs in latest layoffs

(KRON) — Intel quietly cut dozens of Bay Area jobs last month, according to a state filing with the Employment Development Department. The layoffs took effect Nov. 30 and impacted employees at three different Santa Clara locations.

The greatest number of jobs were cut at the company’s headquarters at 2200 Mission College Boulevard, where 45 people lost their jobs. An additional three jobs were cut at Intel’s Bowers Avenue office.

Eleven more jobs were cut at Intel’s Juliettte Lane facility. In all, 59 jobs were cut, according to the filings, which were posted to the EDD website this week.

All of the layoffs were permanent, according to state filings. This is the latest round of job cuts from the chip manufacturer, which announced plans earlier this year to cut 15 percent of its global workforce…
