The world’s largest beer company is shuttering its last Bay Area facility

Anheuser-Busch, the largest beer company in the U.S., will close its last Bay Area brewing facility.

The company notified the city of Fairfield that it will close its nearly 50-year-old brewery there in early 2026, Mayor Catherine Moy announced on Facebook. A company representative confirmed the impending closure to the Chronicle.

The Fairfield facility opened in 1976 and brews more than 20 of Anheuser-Busch’s brands. The company, which was purchased in 2008 by Belgian beer conglomerate InBev — forming AB InBev, the largest brewing company in the world — produces Budweiser, Stella Artois, Corona and Michelob, among others…
