The Bay Area has its first official “ICE-free zone.” The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors unanimously passed an ordinance on Tuesday, immediately creating it. Supervisors say it will limit federal immigration officers from carrying out raids on municipal property. The new law does not prevent agents from making arrests if they have a judicial warrant or a court order.
