(KRON) — A 3.0-magnitude earthquake shook the East Bay Tuesday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The epicenter was 2.6 miles southeast of San Ramon.
The late-night earthquake, which occurred at 10:11 p.m., was the second quake above a 3.0 magnitude to be felt in the San Ramon Valley on Tuesday. A 3.1-magnitude earthquake jolted the region at 5:52 a.m.
The Calaveras Fault near San Ramon has been particularly active in recent months, with more than 10 minor earthquakes registered on Dec. 8.
