Pre-Dawn Gunfire On Solano Way Leaves One Dead In East Oakland

Oakland police are investigating a deadly early-morning shooting in East Oakland after officers found two people with apparent gunshot wounds on Solano Way. One person died at the scene, while the other was hospitalized and is reported to be in stable condition.

What happened

Officers were called to the 1600 block of Solano Way at about 3:15 a.m., where they located two individuals suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, according to KRON4. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The second was transported to a hospital and has been listed in stable condition.

Investigators with the Oakland Police Department’s Homicide Division responded to the scene and are conducting a follow-up investigation, KRON4 reports.
