Two people were killed in separate homicides in Oakland on Friday, police said.
The first incident took place around 3:15 a.m., according to an Oakland Police Department news release. Police were dispatched to Solano Way near 16th Avenue, for reports of a shooting, and found two people who had been shot. One of the victims died at the scene, the second was taken to a local hospital and was in stable condition, police said.
