(KRON) — More than $800,000 worth of merchandise was recovered after a months-long investigation into a retail theft operation across Northern California, the California Highway Patrol announced Tuesday. Thirteen suspects — all but one from Oakland — were taken into custody on Dec. 11.
CHP stated the stolen goods were being resold for profit at flea markets in San Jose, Oakland, Modesto and Stockton. The stolen merchandise — which totaled 44,140 items — recovered include cosemetics, clothing, power tools, alcohol and diapers.
