A disabled BART train caused major delays across the public transit system Saturday afternoon.
A rescue train had to assist a stalled train outside West Oakland Station at around 4:10 p.m., BART officials said in a social media post, which had experienced equipment problems. All 50 stations remained open, but delays were reported between San Francisco and East Bay stations, the transit agency said, with no timeline for services to return to normal, as of 6:20 p.m.
The red line was canceled, BART said. The green and blue lines were temporarily diverted to MacArthur Station, though appear to now be back in service. Some riders may have to make a transfer to complete their trips, officials said…
