Two lanes of Interstate 280 were closed on New Year’s Day after a collision flipped a vehicle and left at least one dead, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities were alerted to a crash on the northbound side of the highway near Serramonte Boulevard in Daly City at 11:11 a.m. Thursday morning, department logs confirmed. There was no estimated time to reopen the roadway as of early afternoon. Crews closed the two left lanes Thursday morning after a car overturned, landing on its roof, according to the log. One occupant was reportedly “trapped inside” at 11:15. A coroner was called to the scene just after 11:30.
