(KRON) — A 16-year-old was arrested for shooting a gas station employee during an attempted robbery in Walnut Creek Sunday, according to police.
Two masked suspects entered the Kwik Serve Gas Station at 1387 California Blvd. around 3:54 a.m. and attempted to steal cigarettes, the Walnut Creek Police Department said. A gas station employee confronted the suspects and was shot during a struggle.

“Upon arrival, officers located an employee suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound,” Walnut Creek PD said. “The victim was transported to a local hospital and is currently receiving treatment.”
11-year-old girl shot in Antioch Monday in critical condition
At about 6 p.m. Sunday, detectives arrested a 16-year-old in connection to the case. The teen was booked into juvenile hall on charges of attempted robbery and attempted homicide.
