West Oakland Shock: Woman Shot While Parked On Goss Street

On Sunday, in West Oakland, it turned violent when a 42-year-old woman was shot while sitting in her parked car, authorities said. She was taken to a local hospital with a wound to her lower leg and was listed in stable condition after the shooting, according to police.

According to the East Bay Times, the woman told officers she suddenly heard gunfire and then realized she had been hit while still inside her vehicle. Officers responding to the scene recovered several shell casings in the 1700 block of Goss Street. Investigators are still working to figure out whether she was specifically targeted or wounded by stray bullets.
