(KRON) — Oakland Police Department officers have seized 16 vehicles so far this year in connection to illegal sideshows. Police said some of the cars were registered to drivers who live in Antioch, Manteca, and Solano County.
The police department wrote, “OPD remains focused on preventing this dangerous and illegal activity that puts the entire community at risk. Investigators are actively working to identify those responsible and hold participants accountable.”
Police are warning drivers that participating in sideshows can result in their car being seized for one month.
In 2025, nearly 200 vehicles were towed by Oakland police and 23 suspects were arrested as part of the OPD’s crackdowns on illegal sideshows, reckless driving, and drivers who attempt to evade law enforcement…
