Two BART lines resumed limited service Friday night following a person’s death after apparently entering the trackway near West Oakland Station.
West Oakland Station was closed shortly before 3 p.m. Friday after “a collision with a train may have occurred,” BART spokesperson Chris Filippi said at 2:20 p.m. in a statement. It was reopened a little after 5 p.m., officials said. The red and green lines were shut down in both directions for more than two hours.
The Red line runs between Richmond and Millbrae stations, and the Green line runs between Daly City and the Warm Springs station in Fremont. The lines offered limited service as of 7:20 p.m.
