1 dead after car crashes into 2 people in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A man was killed while walking in San Francisco’s North Beach Thursday night after the driver of a car crashed into him, according to the San Francisco Police Department. Another man who was riding a scooter was injured in the incident.

Emergency crews responded to the crash at 10:42 p.m. near the intersection of Broadway and Kearny Street. Images from the scene show a car at rest on the sidewalk and up against a building. An electric scooter is seen on the ground in the street near the car.

Police confirmed to KRON4 that the pedestrian suffered critical injuries and he was pronounced deceased at the scene. The man on the scooter was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after falling off the scooter due to the collision, SFPD said.

The driver remained at the scene to cooperate with the investigation. According to authorities, alcohol or drugs do not appear to be factors in the fatal crash…
