On March 11, 2026, the Community Equity, Health, and Justice Committee reviewed the Final Draft Community Emissions Reduction Plan (CERP) for East Oakland, called “Right to Breathe: East Oakland Community Air Quality Justice Plan.” The plan was created with help from 24 local residents and community groups who met regularly since 2022 to identify top air quality concerns.
The plan focuses on six areas: cleaner homes and land use, industrial pollution, illegal dumping, public health, transportation, and urban greening with green job opportunities.
