On Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 2:58 a.m., officers from the CHP San Francisco Area office responded to reports of sideshow activity on Interstate 80 westbound on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, east of Treasure Island. Officers found pedestrians in traffic lanes, fireworks being set off, and vehicles blocking all westbound lanes while engaging in reckless driving. Several pedestrians were cited, and one man was arrested for resisting a peace officer.
Following an investigation, a San Francisco County Superior Court judge authorized the seizure of 16 vehicles from across Northern California connected to the event. The vehicles, including those used to block lanes and aid participants, will be impounded for 30 days.
