CBS News began a new round of layoffs Friday and said it will shut down CBS News Radio in May, a move that could affect national news updates heard on KCBS All News 740 AM and 106.9 FM in San Francisco.
The network said it would eliminate about 6% of its workforce — roughly 60 employees — and end its century-old radio service on May 22.
