SAN FRANCISCO, CA – San Francisco Police Department officers arrested a 31-year-old Oakland man on March 16, 2026, following an observed incident in the Tenderloin district. At approximately 8:06 a.m., officers patrolling the vicinity of 7th and Market streets witnessed what appeared to be an aggravated assault.
Upon reaching the scene, officers detained a male subject who was attempting to depart the area. A second group of officers located an adult female victim on the ground. The victim had sustained injuries described by authorities as life-threatening. Officers provided initial aid before paramedics arrived to transport the individual to a local hospital for further medical treatment.
The suspect has been identified as Cole Wright. Following an on-scene investigation, officers established probable cause to take Wright into custody.
