East Bay pork lovers in the know have flocked to the Carnitas Carnitas Zamora food truck’s weekly Sunday appearances for hefty plates of velvety pork since 2022. Soon, its carnitas will be available six days a week at its first brick-and-mortar location.
Carnitas Carnitas Zamora — which has landed on the Chronicle’s Top Tacos and Top Food Trucks lists — will open its taqueria in April in East Oakland, at 6633 Bancroft Ave., formerly the Mexican restaurant Mi Zacatecas. The opening was first reported by Victor Xie of Bay Area food Instagram account @hididyoueatyet.
