A San Francisco woman was arrested at San Francisco International Airport last week in connection with a felony credit card fraud investigation after allegedly going on a $60,000 spending spree, purchasing luxury hotel stays and spa services, according to the Tiburon Police Department.
The woman was taken into custody around 6:50 a.m. on March 31 after returning from international travel, police said. Investigators determined she was abroad and identified a scheduled return to the United States on March 31, leading to her arrest upon arrival at SFO.
The investigation began March 26, when officers met with the woman’s former employer, a resident in the wealthy Bay Area town of Tiburon, who reported thousands of dollars in unauthorized charges on her credit card.
