A person was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being shot Thursday afternoon in San Francisco’s Mission District, authorities said, hours after city leaders called for a ceasefire to curb rising violence.
Officers responded to the 2200 block of Mission Street just before 3:10 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting, according to the San Francisco Police Department.

Officers located a victim and rendered aid before the person was transported to a hospital, police said. The victim’s condition was described as life-threatening. No additional details about the person have been released.
