Photos: Inside Emeryville’s New Tokyo Central Market

EMERYVILLE, CALIFORNIA – I’ve been meaning to stop into the Tokyo Central Market at Bay Street Emeryville for a while, and I finally made it in.

Lines were out the door when this place originally. When I visited, though, they had calmed down quite a bit.

Here are photos from inside the market.

There are Kiddleton vending machines right in the door.

You’ll find tons of desserts.

There are also bulk goods, like rice.

Cooking utensils and unique kitchen items are also on offer.

There are lots of beverages, including sake, wine, and ramune soda.

There’s a big grab and go section with sushi and other items in cases.

I was hoping for more of a full “food hall” vibe. There is one on-site restaurant, but not too many spots to eat in.

Overall, I’d say this makes a great spot if you want to get Japanese ingredients, snacks or desserts. If you’re looking for a sit-down meal, there are fewer options here…
