Lafayette’s Free Downtown Play Space and Art Space Is Now Open

LAFAYETTE, CA — Downtown Lafayette now has something local parents (and grandparents!) are always hunting for: an easy, indoor place to play that does not require signing up for a class, booking a party, or pulling out a credit card at the door.

The new All Ages Recreation Den is now open at 3561-A Mt. Diablo Blvd., near El Jarro and Postino, according to All Ages Recreation Downtown, the nonprofit behind the project. The group says the location is a short walk from multiple schools, senior living communities, the Lafayette Library, and the Lafayette-Moraga Trail.

AARD also notes that more hours are expected to be added after May 20.

The Lafayette Chamber celebrated the Den’s grand opening with a ribbon cutting on March 10, describing All Ages Recreation Downtown as a 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(2) nonprofit focused on developing more all-ages and all-abilities recreation destinations and programs in and near downtown Lafayette.
