OAKLAND, California — Jarvis Toussaint has been charged with being a felon in possession of ammunition following a deadly shootout in a downtown Oakland nightclub.
According to a criminal complaint and court documents filed on May 8, 2026, and now unsealed, 40-year-old Toussaint, of Mountain House, California, is alleged to have engaged in a shootout on March 7, 2026, that resulted in the deaths of two people, including an Oakland woman who was shot while attempting to flee. At least five others were injured in the incident, according to the United States Attorney’s Office.
Investigators identified Toussaint through surveillance video, automated license plate reader technology, car dealership records, Instagram evidence, cell phone location data, and DNA analysis. Although the semiautomatic pistol used in the shooting has not been recovered, spent shell casings from the rounds fired by Toussaint were found at the scene.
